Behind the Design: The Accidental Origin of Our Logo
Every brand has a story, but ours didn’t start in a high-end design studio or during a grueling brainstorming session. It started with a brand-new laser engraver, a scrap piece of material, and a simple calibration test.
If you’ve ever looked at our logo and wondered about the meaning behind those interlocking geometric shapes, the truth is beautifully simple: it was the very first thing our laser ever created.
The First Test Run
When we first set up our workshop for Uncharted Creators, the excitement was through the roof. We had this incredible, powerful machine sitting in front of us, and we were dying to see what it could do. But before you can start crafting intricate, personalized engravings for clients, you have to test the equipment. You need to make sure the alignment is perfect, the power settings are dialed in, and the lines are crisp.
Instead of queueing up a complex piece of artwork, we decided to keep it basic. We threw together a quick design consisting of just a few overlapping circles. It was meant to be entirely throwaway—a quick, five-minute calibration run to ensure the machine was firing correctly.
From Calibration to Branding
We hit “start,” watched the laser do its work, and waited. When the machine finished and the smoke cleared, we took a look at the result.
Not only was the calibration flawless, but the design itself caught our eye. The overlapping circles created a striking balance of light and dark space, representing the intersecting paths of creativity, precision, and the “uncharted” journeys of making something from scratch. It looked modern, clean, and uniquely us.
We loved the test pattern so much that we realized we didn’t need to hire a graphic designer. The machine had already designed our identity. We added our name to the layout, and just like that, our official logo was born.
What the Circles Mean to Us Today
While it started as a technical test, our logo has grown to represent everything we do:
